130 people gathered for the SEVENTH annual She Leads Michigan
afternoon tea. It was a lovely Michigan spring day at “Venue 3Two” in
Grand Rapids, Michigan, generously donated by our friend Karen Strayer.
Most of the women wore hats
provided by Dr. Linda Lee Tarver.
After taking photos on the staircase and lawn of the beautiful venue,
they savored an exquisite tea, designed by Lori Nichols, an advisory board
member who also organizes our gala in Washington, DC.
Each woman was introduced with a short biography being read of her accomplishments as a Christian leader
in the different segments of society represented. She was then presented
with a certificate from Rep. Nancy DeBoer representing the state of Michigan.
This year, we gifted each woman with a “challenge coin,” presented by Prayer Director Sylvia Williams, reminding us of our responsibility (from 1 Peter 2:9) as leaders of a CHOSEN generation to be humble and live in integrity.
As members of a ROYAL priesthood, we have the privilege of entering the very throne room of God with our prayers and requests. Finally, we are called to BE HOLY as we build a nation on earth and in heaven for the next generations to come. Each recipient also received a pin from a She Leads Michigan alumnus.
Founder and Executive Director Liz Doyle shared the history of the movement and emphasized that each one was being honored because Jesus whispered their name in someone’s ear. She reminded us that we are chosen to bear “eternal fruit” and that our prayers will be answered, depending on our love for one another. John 15:16-17
Powerful anointed worship by Sheri LaFontaine prompted a standing ovation.
The afternoon concluded with a prayer of commitment and a short message
for commissioning from Rev. Syd Doyle, encouraging us as we continued our
journeys that we were released into all that the Lord would have us do to
fulfill our God-given destiny. We look forward to connecting with all our honorees
as we move forward in Michigan during our prayer meetings on Tuesday mornings at 7:30

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made our day so unforgettable. It was truly a memorable experience!

About 100 women attended the She Leads
Michigan "Fresh Start" banquet at the Centre
in Adrian, Michigan, January 29th.
Everyone was inspired and encouraged through
the music of two of our She Leads America's
Christian Women of Distinction, Nancy
Honeytree and Dr. Alveda King.
Thank you to Lori Nichols for organizing
the event and Toni Cooper for helping
out with administration!
The local Press was there and were very
impressed with the evening and what our
goals are in She leads Michigan to bring
women together across all sectors of
society to link arms for the betterment
of our communities!

The She Leads Michigan Women on the Hill
Appreciation Breakfast was attended by 70
women, including 9 female members of the
State House of Representatives (3 called in their
apologies) and one male legislator who sneaked in!
This bi-partisan group of women who love the Lord and work tirelessly for their communities were absolutely blessed by the prayers of the Intercessors and the messages brought by Dr. Alveda King with music by Honeytree.
They asked if we could do this every week!
Others thanked me for this annual event that
strengthens and encourages them. We are
believing that each one will be promoted, and
God will use them mightily to fulfill His Kingdom
purposes in our State.
